Models In The 80s And Now, Who Slayed And Dressed More Better?

The 80s was quite a fascinating period of time. Their lifestyle, looks and mode of dressing were different from what we have today.

A model is a person with a role either to promote, display or advertise commercial products or to serve as a visual aid for people who are creating works of art or to pose for photography.

Modelling as a profession was first established in 1853 by Charles Frederick Worth, when he asked his wife, Marie Vernet Worth, to model the clothes that he designed.

In those days, models like Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Iman, Tyra Banks and so many others appeared on different fashion and modelling magazines. Their unique fashion style then might seem outdated compared to the ones of today.

In the 80s, their hair were much bigger, but that's not all that sets them apart from the rest. They paved way for the new generation to partake too, which is why these models of old have a huge influence in fashion today.

Take a look back at some of the most memorable and defining style moments of the decade below:

If it were before, models would be scouted in their hometowns and progressed into stardom on catwalks. But today, new and fresh faces are are mostly gotten from Instagram and from the number of their followers.

Most models today are less shapely than they were many years ago. Though, there are some that fits that category. The current Top Model of the World for 2019 is Nicole Menayo from Spain, who was crowned on January 24, 2020.
