10. Kolaboy.

Nwodo Chinonso AKA Kolaboy hails from Enugu State, Nigeria and is a Christian by religion. He was born on the 2nd of May, an indigenous Igbo rapper, just like Phyno and Zoro. He had his early education in St. Charles Lwanga College, Enugu and then proceeded to IMT, also in Enugu.

Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje, better known by his stage name Mr Raw, is a rapper from Abia State in Southeastern Nigeria. He is one of the pioneer of Afrohighlife and Igbo rap, a genre that now appeals to a broad, mainstream audience.

His music career Kickstart while he was he in higher institution, but he started fully after his graduation. He gained prominence in igbo rapping around early 2000’s.

Raw’s debut album“right or wrong” was released on 7 August,2005. Followed by”Everything remains raw” on 2007. His third“End of discussion” was released on 2010. Raw’s O! Chukwu won best afro hip hop video at the NMVA of that year.

Slowdog, widely known by his professional name, has his real full name as Nnenna Okechukwu Emmanuel. He is a fast coming up Nigerian indigenous rapper, singer, song writer, recording artiste and stage performer known to rap in Igbo language.

 

He was born in Awkuzu Anambra State.He spent part of life in Jos with his family before settling in Enugu in 1981. He graduated from the institute of management and technology, Enugu in 2003. He started as a group Dodge and Slowdog (DSD) in 2002. He went professional upon the release of his solo single “Who Get That Tin” featuring Dekumzy in 2006.

Every end of year and festive seasons, Slowdog is known to perform primarily in the South East (Nigeria). In December 2014, Slowdog alongside Patoranking and Ruffcoin headlined the Mbba-Ike Mega Concert in Imo State. An annual event hosted by the then deputy governor of the state. In 2015 he was the headline act at the Ogbunike Cave Carnival in Anambra State. On 8 January 2017 along with Mr Raw Nwanne and John Okafor “Mr Ibu” headlined the 2017 edition of the Ibari Ogwa Concert in Imo State.

Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, better known as Phyno Fino, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He started his music career as a producer in 2003, and is renowned for rapping in the Igbo language.

Nigerian rapper, singer, and producer Phyno made his name in 2014 with his debut album, No Guts, No Glory, whose lead single, the Olamide collaboration “Ghost Mode,” earned Best Collaboration honors at both the Nigeria Entertainment Awards and the Headies. Known for rapping in the indigenous Igbo language, he combines elements of hip-hop, R&B, Afro-beat, and Igbo highlife, and continued to enjoy success with subsequent releases like 2016’s The Playmaker and 2019’s Deal with It.

Phyno developed interest in Music Production in secondary school. Then, he started learning how to play piano, drums and how to create his own rendition of every recording he comes across. He got his stage name through one of his friends in high school, Emeka from the word ‘phenomenal’. Phyno started profiting from music from his second year in the institute. And, in 2010, after school, he started rapping and then relocated to Lagos to pursue his career.
