“Shatta Wale Can Say All He Wants To Say About Nigerians So Far As It Doesn’t Threaten Our Personal Relationship” – Jim Iyke

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, has stated that Shatta Wale, the Ghanaian dancehall musician, is free to express his views on Nigerians in the entertainment sector.

In an interview with Giovani on TV3’s Showbiz 360, Jim Iyke remarked that he doesn’t mind Shatta Wale’s beliefs as long as they don’t interfere with the friendship they’ve formed over the years. He claims that, in addition to being a personal friend, Shatta Wale supports him in everything he does.

“Shatta truly supports whatever I do,” he explained. “I mean, the man is entitled to his opinion as long as it does not jeopardize my personal connection with him.”

Jim Iyke’s remark was prompted by Shatta Wale’s recent rant that Nigerian musicians do not appreciate the support Ghanaian musicians offer them. These remarks sparked outrage on social media and sparked a feud between Shatta Wale and Grammy Award winner Burna Boy.

It is not up to Jym Ike to make any conclusions about what Shatta Wale said.

“It’s not in my place to judge what people say or how they react to it; maybe his intention wasn’t bad when he said it; it’s people’s reactions that determine; people react to things in different ways; you could say something bad and I’d see a major benefit in it; I’ll just chalk it up; it’s your opinion and you are entitled to it,” he said.

He continued, “Just because I disagree with someone’s point of view does not imply that I despise his personality.”
