The Blooklyn-based Pakistani beat over Femi Kuti, Wizkid, Tems, Femi Kuti, Angélique Kidjo, Yo-Yo Ma, and Burna Boy to win her maiden GRAMMY award for Best Global Music Performance.

Nigerians expected Wizkid and Tems to win this category without a hitch, but things turned out differently.
