Professor Pat Utomi, a presidential candidate of Labour Party, has stepped down for his counterpart, Peter Obi, at the party’s primary election held in Asaba, Delta State.
Utomi announced that he was relinquishing his presidential aspiration for Peter Obi at the primaries on Monday, May 30.
Obi joined Labour Party barely a week ago after resigning from the People Democratic Party (PDP) where he was running against Atiku Abubakar and other presidential hopefuls.
Following Utomi’s declaration, the former two-time governor of Anambra State will be Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the forthcoming general election in 2023.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
